Powerpoint Lesson Strategy
This PowerPoint presentation, designed to complement my podcast presentation, addresses major folk music traditions of Northern Europe and North America, including Ireland, Scotland, Shetland, Scandinavia (Norway and Sweden), Canada (Quebecois and Cape Breton) and the U.S. (Old-Time and Bluegrass). This presentation should be supplemented with further discussion and research on prominent artists and recordings from these genres. This presentation is most apt for an upper-level ensemble where these styles can be experienced firsthand through learning tunes from a selection of these traditions. For the user's convenience, I have attached a transcript of the podcast, which may be used as a starting point for a lecture based on this PowerPoint presentation.
